Your hair is one of the first things people notice about your appearance. Whether you’d like to use gel, curling or flat irons, leave-in conditioner, or just go natural, there’s a way to make your hair look the way you like. Read on to find out more about hair care!

A healthy body is more likely to produce healthy hair. To keep your body and your hair healthy, you need to eat a nutritious diet and drink adequate quantities of water. Eating a well-balanced diet with fruits, veggies, whole grains, healthy fats and adequate protein provides the nutrients that keep your hair healthy and strong.

It is not true that trimming your hair will make it grow. Regardless of how often hair is cut, it only grows an average of a half-inch per month. While your hair may grow more in the summer, hair growth is controlled by hormones, not trimming. Your hair may look better though by getting a trim to get rid of split ends.

Some people enjoy what salt water does for their hair, and if you are one of them then you will surely enjoy the products that copy the impact of salt water on your hair. Keep an eye out for bottles called “salt spray”, or something like that. You can even mix up your own batch by dissolving a teaspoon of salt into a cup of water. Then, add about ten or so drops of the lavender oil and you have created your own ocean in the bottle.

Try not to use your blow dryer too much. The intense heat from an electric dryer can and will cause damage to the hair, both the strands and the roots. If you use a blow dryer, keep it on the cool setting, and don’t hold it over the same spot of hair for very long. To quickly dry your hair, before using a blow dryer you should towel dry it before hand.

Choose a clarifying shampoo to restore life to dull, flat hair. The cause of dull hair is often the build-up of other hair products. In order to prevent this, you should use some kind of clarifying shampoo once or twice per week to eliminate built-up dirt or residue.

If you utilize a blow dryer, make sure it is moved around frequently so it does not stay focused on one spot. This helps you to avoid your hair becoming damaged from overheating.

Over time, heat from curling irons and blow dryers may damage your hair. Use styling creams or serums that protect your hair from heat. Styling products will protect the hair from the intense heat that these devices generate.

In the winter and fall, try to avoid being in the cold too long. Cold weather dries hair and depletes it of essential oils and nutrients. Cover your head if you will be outside a while.

You hair needs to be taken care of if you’re concerned with how the world looks at you and how you look at yourself. Like or not, your appearance is being judged and you can take simple steps to improve it. Send out a message of which you approve with the hair care tips in this article.
