When dealing with your aging, you need to stop focusing on the numbers. You will drive yourself crazy obsessing over your age, height and weight. Your doctor will worry about the numbers, just focus on enjoying life.

Take resveratrol. Caloric restriction diets have been shown to extend life and lower abnormal insulin levels. Found in red wine, resveratrol mimics those benefits. A good source of Resveratol is in Polygonum cuspidatum or Fallopia japonica, this is where they get it for supplements. It can also be found in the roots of Senna quinquangulata, a South American shrub.

Challenge your mind often to keep it healthy. Older people are wiser, so you should work on furthering your intelligence as you grow. Taking college courses and doing crossword puzzles are a couple of examples of things you can do to stimulate your mind.

Gradually increase the time and effort you dedicate to your exercise regimen. In order to maintain your strength and fitness against aging, your body needs to move. Go for quick walks for 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Switch it up with strength workouts twice a week. This combination of walking and strength exercises will help you maintain a strong healthy body and keep you feeling young.

As we age, sometimes we get to a point when we can no longer take care of ourselves. There is a point in time when someone cannot care for their self. Sometimes, it is best to consider moving to a nursing home or an assisted living facility. While this might not be ideal for most people, it could be the best option. People that work in these places will be able to give you the health care you cannot give yourself.

Eat properly. Eat fresh fruit and veggies to have a diet that is low in fat and sugar. You’ll have lots of energy to help you through your day, and your nutritious diet will help you stay physically and mentally in top form.

Get a lot of water. As you grow older, you are more prone to dehydration. Consequently, it is more important than ever to drink a full eight to ten glasses of water daily.

Take care and wear well-supported shoes to avoid falling down. Falling down is the main source of serious fractures and other injuries leading to death among senior citizens. Going for thirty minute walks three times a week can improve your posture, as well as your overall health. To reduce the chance of fractures, increase your bone density by combining weight training, calcium and vitamin D.

Improving your diet will make a big difference in your battle against growing older. Eat a variety healthy foods, such as whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and low-fat meats. Make sure you get the recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals. Eat three light meals a day, and include a light nourishing snack at mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and before bed.
