When creating healthy and strong teeth, fluoride is the best. If your water isn’t fluoridated, your family may be prone to dental problems. One choice is brushing with toothpaste containing fluoride. Another possible option is using a mouthwash or rinse that contains fluoride.

If you are feeling nervous when you’re in need of a dental appointment, spend a little time going over the various dentists near you. Pick a dentist with a nice personality who enjoys working with patients. This will really make you feel more comfortable during your visits.

If you have temperature-sensitive teeth, try a different toothpaste. However, before you do so, make sure that you visit your dentist and ask for his or her opinion. Your dentist will be able to rule out any other causes of sensitive teeth.

There are certain foods that can really harm your teeth. Stay away from food that are sugary and sweet. Some foods and beverages can cause stains, while others can increase dental sensitivity. Drinking through straws will help keep damage away from your teeth.

Go to the dentist at least once every six months. Regular dental visits can prevent certain dental problems and treat others quickly. At these visits your dentist will check for tooth decay and tartar buildup.

Whenever you are brushing, make sure you aren’t neglecting your back teeth. A lot of people focus on their front teeth to have a healthy smile but neglect to clean their molars, which causes tooth decay and plaque to appear. Be sure your back teeth are getting brushed the same as the front ones so you won’t have trouble.

Let kids chew on their brushes. Of course you still want them to brush, but chewing on it can help to remove at least some of the debris present. This also lets them get used to toothbrushes. If they chew on one, they’ll most likely let you brush their teeth after.

As previously mentioned, your smile is one of the first things people notice about you. You can project a positive image and boost your self-confidence by taking good care of your teeth. Put the above advice to use and you’ll find your teeth to be nicer than you could have ever imagined.
